There are many cigar manufacturers in the world. Some specialize in affordable cigars for the masses; others roll out premium cigars for those with the most discriminating tastes. Cigar manufacturers know their respective audiences and create their products accordingly.

Hunt for the Worlds Biggest Cigar

Some manufacturers make products so rare that you will not find them anywhere else. One online cigar store specializes in this business. The purveyor caters to the very specific demands of high-end clients, finding them a cigar to fit their exact request specifications. Most of the difficult requests concern rare kinds of cigars that were manufactured in a very limited quantity. Searching for these exceptional products can be difficult and time consuming, but most clients are willing to wait—and to pay a hefty price when they are found.

The online cigar dealer received a strange order from a private cigar collector outside of the U.S. several years ago. He was looking for a very rare cigar that normally costs $750. He ordered 100 of these cigars. The cigar dealer compared the request to asking for 100 Ferraris but was able to deliver on the order. That was not the end of it, however. The same customer made another request, this time an outlandish one: He wanted the world’s biggest cigar.

The cigar dealer was able to locate the world’s largest cigar. A cigar company used it as a prop during its conventions and promotional events. The giant cigar is three feet thick and rolled using 1,600 pounds of high-end Nicaraguan tobacco (enough to cover 25,000 regular-sized cigars).

The purveyor found the cigar to be in excellent condition and purchased it. He then offered it to his client for $200,000. After some dickering, they mutually agreed on $185,000 as the final purchase price.
